France has lifted its ban on British tourists in a much-needed boost for ski holidays.
From tomorrow (January 14, 2022), fully vaccinated Brits will be able to travel to France without needing to quarantine on arrival. All must take a Covid test 24 hours before arrival.
Julia Simpson, president & CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, said: “WTTC welcomes the reopening of French borders to UK travellers. Once a variant is endemic closing borders is pointless and only damages livelihoods especially in travel and tourism one of the hardest hit sectors during the pandemic.
“France is one of the biggest markets for UK tourists who, according to WTTC’s 2021 Economic Impact Report, account for 14 per cent of overseas visitors. Total international visitor spend in France was worth more than €60 billion pre-pandemic.”
