Prime minister makes announcement at daily briefing
Boris Johnson has revealed that non-essential shops, including travel agencies, will be able to reopen from June 15.
The prime minister added that the move was contingent on progress and that retailers would have to adhere to new guidelines to maintain social distancing.
Car showrooms and open air markets will open at the beginning of June.
In countries where reopening has already begun, retailers have followed the example of supermarkets – limiting the amount of shoppers – or operating on an appointment system.
