Two agents at Kent-based agency Go Travel have made a Cunard booking of almost £174,000.
The trip marks the agency’s biggest ever booking, with agents Linda Parsons and Gemma Furneau working together to secure the Cunard cruise aboard Queen Mary 2. The customer and his wife have booked one of the ship’s top suites – the Grill Duplex Suite – on a 99-night 2020 world cruise.
The suite was initially only available to the US market, but working with Travel 2’s Cruise Plus team, Parsons was able to reserve it, saving the customer from having to join the cruise a week earlier in New York.
Furneau already had a relationship with the customer, having booked him on his first cruise more than a decade ago. She was out of the branch when he wanted to confirm, so Parsons stepped in to finalise the booking.
Furneau said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for my customer. It gave me a lot of satisfaction.”
Parsons agreed: “I will probably never book something like that again in my lifetime. You hear about people making these bookings, but you never know them.”
