Tour operator reveals new agent initiative at conference
Jet2holidays paid out £70 million in travel agent commission in the last year alone, the company has revealed. The total commission was paid out on 824,208 holidays.
Jet2holidays also sent out 2.5 million brochures to travel agents around the country.
Speaking at the Jet2holidays 2018 VIP Conference, Heapy added that revenues for Dart Group, Jet2’s parent company, were up 38 per cent with profits up 13 per cent.
The company also revealed the launch of “Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agents” – a new scheme which offers independent travel agents the chance to access training programmes, branding and Jet2holidays Booking Pods.
The pods are a new way for agents to incorporate customisable spaces within their existing shops. Those who have the pods in their shops will be able to brand their stores as a Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agent.
“We believe 100% in investing in our partnership approach to working with independent travel agents, which is why it continues to go from strength to strength,” Alan Cross, Head of Trade at Jet2holidays said. “With the launch of Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agents we are making this partnership approach bigger and better, so that independent travel agents working with us have even more opportunities to grow their businesses.
“Thanks to this exciting new announcement, independent travel agents who understand the value of marketing and who want to embrace working with one of the UK’s biggest and most popular brands can really take their business to the next level.
“With flexible in-store Booking Pods, a host of fantastic marketing opportunities, and a brand new training programme for staff, we are confident that our Specialist Jet2holidays Travel Agents will take our partnership approach to new heights. With this, and much more to announce at our biggest ever VIP conference for independent travel agents this week, we are looking forward to an incredibly successful and productive conference.”
